An interesting film from 1974, the action of which begins in Rome. A dying Russian émigré tells her granddaughter Olga in hospital a story about a treasure in Leningrad that she hid under a lion. The conversation is also heard by a doctor, two nurses, a patient with a broken leg and a member of the Mafia.
It then turns out that they all meet on a plane flying to Moscow to then travel to Leningrad to find the treasure – worth 9 billion. It is this huge sum of money that makes all the participants in this comedy, pursue the treasure at all costs, without the participation of the others. One of the protagonists – a doctor – spends all his time on a plane, travelling between Italy and the Soviet Union, because no one without a passport wants to let him into the country.
The other characters and the Soviet militia captain, Andrei, who joins them, are involved in many hilarious actions, and we get to enjoy first Moscow and then (to a greater extent) the charms of Leningrad, as the characters search for treasure under the lion statues in Leningrad.
I invite everyone to watch this comedy, which used to be very common on Polish television. Quite an interesting ending, but I won’t reveal that to you anymore.
