English translator. Day in love.

Valentine’s Day, which translates from English into Polish as ‘Valentine’s Day’, ‘Day of the Lovers’ or ‘Saint Valentine’s Day’, is fast approaching – a holiday celebrated annually on 14 February, which has been celebrated in the West, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States, since time immemorial.

In Poland, this custom was not adopted until the 1990s. On this holiday of lovers, it was customary to send each other love letters written in verse, called valentines, and to give each other heart-shaped gifts and flowers. This is a very nice and interesting custom, but we believe that the festival of lovers should last all year round, so that love is not only declared on 14 February, but all year round, and without waiting for St Valentine’s Day, love is declared and gifts are given to each other.
